Vector v0.24.2 release notes

This patch release contains a few fixes for regressions and bugs in new functionality from 0.24.0.

Upgrading Vector
When upgrading, we recommend stepping through minor versions as these can each contain breaking changes while Vector is pre-1.0. These breaking changes are noted in their respective upgrade guides.

4 bug fixes

  • The datadog_metrics sink now properly encodes rate metrics received from the datadog_agent source.
  • The expire_metrics_secs setting is now correctly applied to expire timeseries not seen in the configured number of seconds.
  • Options that take a field name (like the global timestamp_key option) can now be disabled again by supplying an empty string ("") for the config option.
  • VRL now longer returns an incorrect invalid type error for closures (“block returns invalid value type”).
